Training at Waverley

The schools in the Waverley Education Foundation (WEF) trust have a long-standing tradition of ambition and aspiration for both students and staff, aimed at bringing the best possible opportunities to our local communities.

In addition to Continuing Professional Development (CPD) provision for WEF Trust staff, an annual programme of CPD is made available to teachers in primary and secondary schools outside of the Trust. This includes the popular NPQ programmes, Early Excellence regional provision and practical CPD for classroom teachers, including early career support for alumni of the Waverley School Direct PGCE programme.

Our School Direct programme offers practical training focused on the needs of our local communities and has grown to a cohort size of 20+ in recent years. Many of our trainees go on to work in our and our partner schools. We work in partnership with Birmingham City University and Newman University and offer a range of primary and secondary course options.

The majority of training events take place in the dedicated Training Room in the sixth form building at Waverley School which has capacity for up to 35 delegates. It is also the training hub for trainees on the Waverley School Direct programme. Please visit our CPD and ITT pages to find out more.
