Waverley School became an all-through school in September 2012.  At Waverley we create an environment which allows everyone to develop mutual respect for each other and a respect for learning.

This is an exciting time to join Waverley Education Foundation Trust. We have landmark buildings equipped with state of the art and design technology facilities for teaching, learning and training. As part of the exciting growth plans for the Trust, we are expanding our team to meet future requirements. We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our team as Level 2 Teaching Assistants within our Primary Phase.

Ideal candidate will have a good understanding of how children can learn and develop and be able to work confidently with them and with other teachers.  Candidates must be able to use their own initiative and be able to communicate confidently and effectively with children, staff and parents.  All candidates must have the ability to work within and apply all school policies and it would be advantageous to have some knowledge of the SEN code of Practice.

They must be willing to work as a member of an enthusiastic and forward thinking team to ensure learners of all abilities achieve their very best.  Applicants must hold the Level 2 TA Qualification and possess good numeracy and literacy skills with GCSE’s or equivalent in English and Maths. Good ICT skills are also essential.

This is an excellent opportunity for Teaching Assistants to further their experience and contribute to the positive achievement of our children.

This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to speak fluent spoken English is an essential requirement for this role.

The school’s most recent inspection report, Ofsted (November 2021) commented that ‘Pupils are happy to come to this school…. and the curriculum is ambitiously designed to stretch pupils regardless of their starting point.’

The successful candidates will need to meet the requirements of the person specification in order to be offered the post and will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.

*Shortlisted applicants will be subject to online checks in line with Keeping Children Safe 2022

We welcome applications regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity or religion. Only applications submitted on the schools application form will be accepted.

Waverley School is committed to the protection and safety of its students.
