We are a Humanities Specialist College which became an all through school in September 2012.  We achieved IIP Gold in December 2013. At Waverley we try to create an environment which allows everyone to develop mutual respect for each other and a respect for learning. This is an exciting time to join Waverley School.

The students at Waverley School have made outstanding progress year on year. We moved to new landmark buildings that provide everyone with state of the art facilities for learning, teaching and training. As part of the exciting growth plans for the School, we are expanding our team to meet future requirements.  We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team as a Teaching Assistant (L3, GR3) with EAL/Literacy Specialism within our secondary phase.

The ideal applicant will have experience of working with children within a secondary setting and be willing to work as members of enthusiastic and forward thinking teams to ensure learners of all abilities achieve their very best.  They should have a good understanding of how children can learn and develop and be able to work confidently with them and with other teachers.  Candidates must be able to use their own initiative and be able to communicate confidently and effectively with children, staff and parents.  All candidates must have the ability to work within and apply all school policies and it would be advantageous to have knowledge of the SEN code of Practice.   All applicants must hold the Level 3 qualification (or equivalent).

This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to speak fluent spoken English is an essential requirement for this role.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Teaching Assistant to further their experience and contribute to the positive achievement of our children.

The successful candidate will need to meet the requirements of the person specification in order to be offered the post and will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.

We welcome applications regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity or religion. Only applications submitted on the schools application form will be accepted. Waverley School is committed to the protection and safety of its students.

The closing date for applications is 10.00 a.m. on Monday 13th December 2021. Applications received after this time and date will not be accepted.  Completed applications should be sent to Applications@waverley.bham.sch.uk .  Please note, if you have not heard from us within 2 weeks from the closing date, please assume that on this occasion, your application has been unsuccessful.  For further enquiries please call 0121 566 6607.
