We are a Humanities Specialist College which became an all through school in September 2012.  We achieved IIP Gold in December 2013 and have been awarded Teaching School Status.  At Waverley we try to create an environment which allows everyone to develop mutual respect for each other and a respect for learning. This is an exciting time to join Waverley School.

 

We moved to new landmark buildings that provide everyone with state of the art facilities for learning, teaching and training. As part of the exciting growth plans for the School, we are expanding our team to meet future requirements.  We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team as a School Counsellor.   

 

The School Counsellor reports to the Director of Safeguarding and is responsible for providing a therapeutic service. The post holder will be required to work primarily with individuals in 1:1 counselling. The successful candidate will also conduct regular assessments in response to referrals and make a contribution in developing whole school emotional wellbeing in a way that is co-ordinated with wider staff and departments.

. All applicants must be able to communicate effectively with pupils, teachers and external agencies as required.  All applicants must also have the relevant counselling or psychotherapy qualification and A* - C GCSE in English or equivalent.

 

This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to speak fluent spoken English is an essential requirement for this role.

This is an excellent opportunity for an A School Counsellor to further their experience and contribute to the positive achievement of our children.

The successful candidate will need to meet the requirements of the person specification in order to be offered the post and will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
