We are a Humanities Specialist College which became an all through school in September 2012. We achieved IIP Gold in December 2013. At Waverley we try to create an environment which allows everyone to develop mutual respect for each other and a respect for learning. This is an exciting time to join Waverley School.
We have new landmark buildings that provide everyone with state of the art facilities for learning, teaching and training. As part of the exciting growth plans for the School, we are expanding our team to meet future requirements. We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our team as Level 2 Teaching Assistants within our Secondary Phase.
Ideal candidates will have a good understanding of how children can learn and develop and be able to work confidently with them and with other teachers. Candidates must be able to use their own initiative and be able to communicate confidently and effectively with children, staff and parents. This role will involve supporting pupils with mobility and hygiene needs. All candidates must have the ability to work within and apply all school policies and it would be advantageous to have some knowledge of the SEN code of Practice.
They must be willing to work as a member of an enthusiastic and forward thinking team to ensure learners of all abilities achieve their very best. Applicants must hold the Level 2 TA Qualification and possess good numeracy and literacy skills with GCSE’s or equivalent in English and Maths. Good ICT skills are also essential.
This is an excellent opportunity for Teaching Assistants to further their experience and contribute to the positive achievement of our children.
This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to speak fluent spoken English is an essential requirement for this role.
The successful candidates will need to meet the requirements of the person specification in order to be offered the post and will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
We welcome applications regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity or religion. Only applications submitted on the schools application form will be accepted.
Waverley School is committed to the protection and safety of its students.
*Shortlisted applicants will be subject to online checks in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education (September 2022).
The closing date for applications is 10.00 a.m. on Thursday 6th October 2022
Completed applications should be sent to Applications@waverley.bham.sch.uk Applications received after this date and time will not be considered.
