Get school experience
During the Covid-19 pandemic, all external placements (volunteer/undergraduate and graduate/work experience etc) are suspended until further notice. Applications are currently not being accepted.
We will make an updated version of the application form available on this web page once we are in a position to start offering external placements and volunteering opportunities.
We are exploring how virtual school experience sessions might be offered to prospective teacher training applicants later in the year and will update this page as these become available.
Please note that we cannot offer work experience placements to students in Year 10 and Year 12 who are not enrolled at schools within the Waverley Education Foundation.
Gaining school experience, even just one day, can make a positive contribution to the application process and help you to decide whether teaching is right for you. Register your details with the DfE to be able to use their Get School Experience service, which offers short-term opportunities to visit schools across England.
Waverley School offers opportunities for prospective teachers in a range of secondary subjects and the primary phases through this service; see below for the subjects we offer. Please note that all school experience places are limited and that applicants must be eligible for teaching training and have not already secured a teacher training place. Booking is via the Waverley School page on the Get School Experience website.
