Waverley School became an all-through school in September 2012.  At Waverley we create an environment which allows everyone to develop mutual respect for each other and a respect for learning. 

This is an exciting time to join Waverley Education Foundation Trust. We have landmark buildings equipped with state of the art and design technology facilities for teaching, learning. As part of the exciting growth plans for the Trust, we are expanding our team to meet future requirements.

We are looking for a highly motivated and committed individual to join our team as Director of Science.

You will be required to provide effective leadership and management of the Science Department and thereby build and maintain an effective teaching team which continually enhances the quality of learning and achievement.  As the Director of Learning – Science you will need to consult, produce and regularly review the Science Department handbook which should state the agreed procedures, practices and aspirations of the Department.  The role will also involve managing the Department's contribution to the School Prospectus.  We are looking for someone with excellent leadership skills and the ability to motivate the team and drive the department forward.

 

The school’s most recent inspection report, Ofsted (November 2021) commented that ‘Pupils are happy to come to this school…. and the curriculum is ambitiously designed to stretch pupils regardless of their starting point.’

  The successful candidate will need to meet the requirements of the person specification in order to be offered the post and will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.  Waverley School is committed to the protection and safety of its students.
