Training at Waverley

CPD

Our CPD offer across the primary and secondary phases is continually evolving and aims to respond quickly to local demand. It encompasses training events drawing on local and national expertise in promoting British values, Diversity and leadership. We offer:

  • Structured programmes carrying external accreditation
  • Annual programmes targeted at specific career phases
  • Phase-specific and subject-specific courses
  • Training days delivered by nationally recognised experts
  • One-off events in response to demand
  • Distance  / Online CPD

These training opportunities addressing whole-school and curriculum innovation are of relevance to schools nationally. As licensed provider for a number of structured programmes which aim to develop colleagues at different stages of their career, we are also fortunate in having a talented team of accredited trainers within the trust.

We additionally design and deliver our own training programmes to meet the needs of our schools, such as the annual NQT programmes for primary and secondary.  These programmes are rigorously evaluated for year-on-year improvement. We continue to offer support for subjects often with limited CPD offers such as Music and Urdu. We are working with our local subject networks to identify further training needs as we address the challenges of new curricula and Ofsted framework.

In light of the current social distancing measures we are also utilising new technologies such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams to offer some of our CPD offer online through webinars and live training sessions.

We work alongside The Association of Central Teaching Schools (ACTS) offering NPQML, NPQSL and NPQH, in partnership with Ambition School Leadership. Applications are now open and can be accessed via this link with courses commencing this term.
