As part of the exciting growth plans for Waverley School, we are recruiting to our secondary and sixth form phase senior leadership team.  We are looking for an experienced and influential individual to join our SLT as an Assistant Principal.  The successful applicant will work in collaboration with and support of the Senior Leadership Team to ensure outstanding leadership and management within the school.  

The successful applicant will lead by example, demonstrating a strong commitment to achieving the highest standards in every aspect of work; will assist in the day-to-day running of the school, maintaining a high profile and presence around the school. The successful applicant will help create a climate in which staff are motivated and are encouraged to develop their practice

The ideal applicant will have a proven track record in effective leadership and management within a secondary setting and will be able to lead the school on to even greater success.  Applicants must have an abundance of energy, flair, vision and enthusiasm.  They will need to be hard working, high achieving, self-motivating and capable of playing a major role in school improvement work. The remit of the Assistant Principal role is diverse, requiring applicants to have excellent inter-personal, communication and literacy skills as well as excellent IT skills. The successful applicant will be diplomatic and prepared to challenge to maintain high standards of education provision. Other essential skills include excellent time management and organisation skills.  In teaching and learning, the ideal applicant will have an excellent track record of teaching and student progress within a successful secondary school/phase with a commitment to being self-reflective in their practice. 

The successful applicant will need to meet the requirements of the person specification in order to be offered the post and will be subject to an enhanced DBS check. Waverley School is committed to the protection and safety of its students.
