Waverley School is a friendly and welcoming all through school for pupils ages 4 -19, with a resource base for pupils with cognitive and learning difficulties.  Our school community benefits greatly from our new, landmark award winning buildings that provide everyone with state of the art facilities for learning, teaching and training.  At Waverley School we promote a culture of ‘Learning Through Diversity’.  We are a forward thinking school with the highest of ambitions for all our pupils.  At Waverley we create an environment which allows everyone to develop mutual respect for each other and a respect for learning.

This is an exciting time to join Waverley Education Foundation Trust. We have landmark buildings equipped with state of the art and design technology facilities for learning, teaching and training. As part of the exciting growth plans for the Trust, we are expanding our team to meet future requirements.

The ideal candidate will have an excellent track record of teaching and student progress within a successful secondary school or teaching training programme.  They will be expected to deliver outstanding lessons to ensure excellence and achievement for all learners, with a true commitment to raising standards.  Applicants will need to have experience of using a variety of approaches to continually enhance teaching and learning of Spanish throughout the school across the full age and ability range including Key Stage 4.   You will also need to have excellent communication skills and the ability to forge strong working relationships within the Languages team and school as a whole.

Ofsted (November 2021) commented that ‘Pupils are happy to come to this school…. and the curriculum is ambitious designed to stretch pupils regardless of their starting point.’

The successful candidates will need to meet the requirements of the person specification in order to be offered the post and will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.

We welcome applications regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity or religion. Only applications submitted on the schools application form will be accepted.

Waverley School is committed to the protection and safety of its students.
